Bumper Sticker

I was driving through Gilbert this evening, on the way to a very forgettable dinner in which one of my favorite restaurants sorely disappointed me, when I noted the SUV to the right of me.

There, under the latch to the rear window, in white letters was the following decal:

Iraq is Arabic for Vietnam

I inititally got angry, and nearly sped up to give the driver a one-fingered salute, but given the number of gun-toting drivers, that is never a good idea. Gee, where was all this self restraint 30 years ago whenI really could have used it?

As I thought about it, however, I realized that the decal was actually correct.

In Vietnam, despite the best efforts of the leftist anti-war effort, we achieved military victory that was eventually given away by left wing, socialist politicians and their friends in the main stream media.

In Iraq, despite the best efforts of the leftist anti-war effort, we will achieve military victory that will eventually be given away by left wing, socialist politicians and their friends in the main stream media.
